This was brought to our club social and thought that it would benefit those who shoot the Ruger 10-22.
It one of those things that make you shake your head and wonder why all the hoopla over the mag restrictions to begin with.

As far as I understand it the Ruger charger pistol takes the ruger (Prohibited) 30 rounds mags which they didn't like …

The fact you can now use a 30 round Remington mag in a Ruger now just makes all these rules absurd

Yup.

I have some quick tips for anyone getting these adaptors. Disassemble your remington magazines and make sure the spring is correctly installed (most are not)

And you may want to check the base plate on the adaptor to make sure it was glued on. Mine fell apart as soon as I took it out of the box, so I just krazy glued it back on.

I didn't figure out the magazine issue until around 6-700 rds in of frustration (feeding angle was off leading to constant malfunctions) when my gun was pretty dirty. Things seemed to get better after I fixed the mags but my gun was gummed up and I was getting lots of FTEs by this point. I'm going to try to make it to the indoor range tomorrow night to test if things are sorted or not.

Also, federal value pack 525rd 36gr hollow points worked best because they have a more conical shape as opposed to the pseudo semi wadcutter shape of most hollow point ammo. Value pack ammo furthest on the right:

I'll take some video too. I have some promags on order to try as well as they have a better reputation than remington mags

And for fun heres a pic of it with mag installed:

The first absurdity was that the RCMP asserted a prohibition because magazines that for decades were explicitly & deliberately made for 10/22 rifles could also fit into the Ruger Charger.

What's further absurd is that the RCMP-approved SBI adapters now allow Remington mags to work in, yes, the Ruger Charger... :yingyang:

Yea... That needs to be challenged.

I went back to the first page of the report and it says that the adapter was sent in for inspection with a Remington 10 round magazine.
I googled “Can I own a .22LR magazine that holds 25 cartridges?”
There is a couple of RCMP pages that come up to read. One of them says this regarding mag capacity.

Current Issues

1. Magazines designed or manufactured for both rimfire calibre rifles and handguns

Magazines designed to contain rimfire cartridges and designed or manufactured for use in a rifle do not have a regulated capacity. However, magazines designed to contain rimfire cartridges and designed or manufactured for use in a semiautomatic handgun are limited to 10 cartridges. Magazines designed or manufactured for use in both rifles and semiautomatic handguns are subject to the handgun limit of 10 cartridges.

Example:
Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 rifle and 15-22P pistol chambered for 22LR caliber:

the 10 round magazine is unregulated
the 25 round magazine is a prohibited device
Example 2*: The Ruger BX-25 magazine, chambered for 22 LR calibre, is designed and manufactured for use in the Ruger SR22 rifle, the 10/22 family of rifles/carbines and the 22 Charger handgun. As a result, this magazine is a prohibited device unless modified so its capacity is 10 cartridges or less. (*This information was not included in the original version of this bulletin, but was added on 2013-09-05.)

So according to this the Remington 25 round mag is prohibited?
From what I read on other parts of their website a semiautomatic .22 is regulated to 10 rounds yet a Remington 597 25 round mag is legal.
What am I missing?

Remington doesn't make a pistol that uses these mags. Honestly, to understand these regs you need to drop acid - repeatedly, for about a year.
