10/22 Magazines

A friend of mine just picked himself up a new 10/22 and wants to get some high capacity mags. I have heard some are alot better than others. So what would be the best brand? Ive heard steel lips mags are very good. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I like the Butler Creek steel lips best as well, got one of the MWG 50 round mags and like most I have heard of it broke and I won't be replacing it.

Never used BC. Like to try some.

But right now I'm using Eagle Mags and have 2 MWG 50 round mags. Both are OKAY. Eagle ones worked the best for me, The 50's were good but not the best.

Eagle you can see in the states for ~10usd.

+1 for butler creek steel lips.... like all extended mags,they do need a short break-in period though.

butler creek steel lips steel lips- & get the loader as well. once broken in. i've never had issues with them. the hot lips aren' t as good. (they're only $5 less than the steel lips, so get the steel ones instead.

I bought a couple Tactical Inc., all aluminium 25 round magazines through a group buy on RimfireCentral, very nice units, though pricey, probably $100.00 each when all is accounted for. The units function well and are well worth the price if only for the cool factor.

Unfortunately they do not ship to Canada so it means using your ingenuity on getting them up here.

With two BC steel lip mags and the two TI mags the barrel on my 10-22 can get pretty warm in darned short order. The BC speed loader is a must.
