10/22 Mod questions

I want to buy something I can do some heavy modifications to and I heard the 10/22 is one of the most modified guns out there.
I have tried the search function on here but has not come up with much so I have a few questions ....

How many bullets can you have in a 10/22 magazine ?
I know the max is 5 with center fire but from my understanding its not the same with a 22.

Is the law the same with rim fire as it is with center fire when it comes to barrel length and over all length of the gun ?

What does 10/22 mean, I am assuming the 22 is the caliber but what is the 10 ?

Is a mod like this legal in Canada ?

The number is unlimited, or aleast limited to the biggest mag you can find. A drum mag is usualy 50

Yes the legal length limit is on all long guns and not is limited to certain calibers

not really sure but I think this just refers to a Ruger that comes with a factory 10 round mag in a 22 cal thus 10/22

Yes a mod like this is legal in Canada as long as it meets the oal requirement and the modification does not cover the serial number

This here is the stock I would like to buy since it is available in Canada.

Go for it I have seen some prety sweet looking mods like this done to rugers

I would go with that 1st picture, its a nordic AR22. The Nordic can fit any AR parts so there are endless possibilities with it. If you e-mail Fabsports I think he may be getting some in if there is enoungh intrest.

I hope you don't have an addictive personally like me, because this new rimfire hobby may cost you alot of money..!!:D

Is the Ruger 10/22 the best option to get if planning on doing lots of modifications or are there other .22 that will work better ?

I found this available in Canada ... can anybody tell me where the serial number on the 10/22 is ?

Stamped onto the receiver. The rest covers it. If you want, you can buy number stamps at Princess Auto for $3. I did mine, but will devalue it if you decide to sell.

Is the 2nd stock an Evo? :confused:
 
That last stock there is the Promag Archangel. That is what I have. The serial number is stamped on the side of the receiver but the Archangel kit has a small cutout where the number is visible. IT's a great kit and feels solid. Bought it from MysticPlayer here on CGN.
