I decided when i was out today hunting my trigger is horrible, is there a way to fix that without buying parts? If not what is the best route to go to remedy this? I see one site sponsor has a hammer kit that will lower trigger pull weight to 2.5lb or so but will that also get rid of the trigger creep? I know mystic sells 10/22 triggers but their 170$ a little much for a hunting rig(trying to make a small/light grouse gun) but the creep and trigger pull weight is horrible. I'm going to get a 12.5" barrel not sure what one the dlask or the mcgowan what would you guys recommend? Also i wouldn't mind getting a houge overmold stock anyone know a place in canada that stocks these? Besides that is there any other upgrades you guys could suggest? Thanks in advance.

Go to Rimfirecentral.com and go to 10/22 Tips and Tricks. They have a really good tutorial for polishing the various parts of the trigger pull which smoothed out my trigger immensely. I also cut a few coils off of my trigger return spring which lightened up the trigger as well.

I have a Dlask 16" heavy barrel and am very impressed with it. It shoots cheap ammo very well and it groups very well for a 10/22.

The Hogue stocks have quite a bit of flex in them. I bought a Boyd's Tacticool stock and am very happy with it. They have quite a selection of stocks and will ship stocks under $100 to us.

Good luck! Once you start doing mods to your 10/22 you won't be able to stop.

I just re read your reply and you mean boyds will ship to Canada correct? Does anyone know if rimfiresports ships stocks to Canada? You say the houge has lots of flex upfront but from the sounds of it the boyds are not free floated either. Anyone suggest a nice looking stock that is fairly light. I like the look of the boyds but I'm making a shorty grouse gun not a
Tactical bench rest gun, but if all 10/22 after market stock are about the same weight the boyds would be a winner.

I looked at how precise you need to be to rework your hammer and just bought one for $35, ordered a sear at the same time for another $35 but that was back ordered.

I installed the hammer, lightened up the pull nicely. Polished my sear then. Put in the new sear about a month later and didn't notice any difference to speak of.

Lots of folks said to get an extractor as well so I did but I've never had any FTE from the start so it's still sitting in the box.
I've used the BC steel lips with no trouble but usually use the factory 10 round mags.
Nothing else, rifle performed perfectly for the last 3000 + rounds. No issues at all.

I would just get the hammer and see if that makes you happy.

Ya I was wondering how the SS evolution would look with a 12.5" barrel. Now does the hammer just lighten up the trigger pull? Or does it get rid of the trigger creep also? Also anyone know If rimfireaports ships stocks to Canada and if they ship trigger parts? Also what stocks would you guys recommend for a 12.5" Dlask barrel? I want as close to 26.5" oal as possible and keep it fairly light. Trying to make a bush carry grouse gun.

I was thinking a hogue overmold with a Dlask 12.5" barrel. But the Boyd tacticool stock looks great, but is 1 pound heavier then the hogues I think so I dunno but Ive only been looking at stocks for a 10/22 last few days. The stok just has to be able to have the 12" barrel come over the end a bit.

nordic chasis and build your tactical grouse blaster, little more money than just a stock mind you, and yes rimfire sports ships to Canada
26 7/8 - crappy cell pic but was just working on it, changed out the trigger housing to a new one and put a filler plug between grip and trigger gaurd, oh and new scope to try out, that is a dlask 12.5 barrel shoots great
