I just purchased a used 10/22 that I want to customize but do not want to go really overbored but am looking for the parts that will give me the best accuracy for the price. Can you suggest the best places to puchase the what I think I need and suggest what is missing from list below either in Canada or a US supplier that still ships to Canada.

1. A .920 bull barrel from 16-20 " ( prefer green mountain but open to suggestions)
2. Houge overmoulded stock
3. Extrator
4. Extended mag release
5. Scope base

Advise would be really appreciated I want this gun as accurate as I can get but I am not expecting to beat my CA 452 American with 3-9 40mm EERF

thanks

I would add a Recoil Buffer to the list. It reduces the noise of the action cycling by getting rid of that metal to metal Clank. This also will help reduce the ware and tear on your optics.

Barrel, if you want it to be as accurate as possible I would recommend a Volquartsen Barrel or, going a step up in my opinion, a Lilja. There are Canadian Importers of the Lilja barrels, check there website. I know that there is a dealer located in Maple Creek Sask, on in BC (They charged the most) and on in Calgary. I got mine from Shooters Trading Post in Ontario and Brian gave me the best price and service. Recommended highly.

For mag. release and scope base I would check out www.rimfiresports.com

As Bull's-Eye mentioned, get a bolt buffer. Also add an aftermarket hammer and sear (made by Volquartsen).

All the parts you're looking for can be found on CGN. Just place a Want To Buy add in the EE forum and I'm sure you'll get a response. Otherwise, try w3.hawktecharms.com or w3.rimfiresports.com Both are US companies that'll ship to Canada for free (I'm not sure about the barrels though).

By the way, you can make you're own extended mag release by taking drilling a hole in the factory mag release and installing the factory bolt buffer in it. Then use JB Weld to hold it in place.

For a scope base you might want to consider one that will accept centrefire rings. Weaver makes one, there are others.
Some folks have reported greatly improved accuracy by simply reducing the headspace. Headspace is established by the depth of the counterbore on the boltface, so a precision grinder is used to remove a bit of steel from the front of the boltface.
A Hogue stock is injection moulded with a coating applied. It won't necessarily improve accuracy.
