I need to become better at using peep sights (since some of my milsurps have peeps). I thought I'd put some peep sights on my 10/22 for economical practicing. I think I've narrowed my two choices to:
http://www.rimfiresports.com/mercha...roduct_Code=WGRS-RU22/63330&Category_Code=R1A and http://www.gunaccessories.com/1022/mountsbases.asp .
In case the 2nd link takes too long, it's a 10/22 Quick Detach Eagle Scope mount with Sight System (ie.scope rail which supposedly holds zero with a peep sight built onto the rail also)
Anyone have experience with either of these? Recommendations or other options I should consider?
Thanks

At the top of that webpage:

"Presenting two models of windage and elevation adjustable sights for the Ruger® 10/22 Rifle. These sights will be available for purchase in March 2006. We will update this website with purchasing information as the time gets closer."

I just assumed that the info was correct but I haven't done much research on them. I'm not a fan of the stock ruger irons and I'm not one for reddots or scopes so I was just waiting for that page to be updated. Maybe give em an e-mail and see where that takes you.

That tech sight looks good, but I bet it will be priced near $100 USD. I have a Williams Sight on my 10/22 and I think its a good, economical answer. It presents a low profile and is sturdy considering its aluminum construction. You can use the small aperture or just unscrew the aperture and the remaining hole acts very nicely as a "ghost ring". The adjustments are trial and error, but once its locked down, it does a nice job.
For god's sake, don't encumber yourself with a scope on a lightweight 10/22!! Leave the scopes for the highend, heavy barrel rigs.

thats exactly what I have. I have a heavy barrelled 10/22 with a 4-12 power scope (just shooting it today-very tidy groups) and a standard profile stainless 10/22 with a peep and folding stock. Its my do-everything-bird-hunting-throw-in-the-truck gun.

I've got a Williams peep sight on one of mine. Once you have it zeroed your good to go, it's very sturdy. I have one just like it on a Remington 30-06 that has never lost zero in 13 years.
