So I took my ruger out the other day for an afternoon of shooting rabbits. And the darn thing is failing to #### the hammer after each shot. It is ejecting the ermpty casing and loading the next round perfectly, just not cocking the hammer. Any of you guys know what's going on and how to fix it?

Sounds like the trigger's not returning. Try dry firing the gun, keeping the trigger held in cycle the action. Release the trigger. Try to dry fire again. Hopefully this should recreate what's happening. If it doesn't fire, try pushing the trigger forward. If it fires, you will probably need to look at the trigger return spring and plunger assy. Hope this helps.

How cold was it? .....Maybe a factor. Could the block be returning far enough to eject and pickup but not push the hammer all the way back? Did you try different ammo? Or some with more punch?
Cold weather [and the type of lub] can be a real problem with .22 auto pistols so may be a similar situation...good luck with it.
