this is the 2nd or 3rd revamp of this gun this winter/spring and im finaly happy with it and im gonna go ahead and call this one DONE!

i had it out at the range today and tested it out in the wind and rain and it purrrrrrrred like a kitten!

hopefully when i get off work next week i can have a couple days without wind to see how far i can reach out with it with accuracy.

at any rate, submitted for your approval is my all custom made Ruger 10/22.

Black Hogue Stock.
DAR 22 STERLING RECEIVER With INTEGRAL PICATINNY RAIL.
DLask 18.5" heavy bull barrel.
DLask Compensator.
DLask charging handle (scull pic on the front)
Kid 2 stage trigger set to 1.2lbs (i think, ill test it here in a minute to make sure)
Kid silver scalloped bolt.
Optics is just some cheap glass i picked up.
and a bipod on the front, thinks it champion.

i hand sanded the inside of the receiver with 600, 1500, 2000 wet dry paper then polished it with mothers aluminum polish.
same with the bolt, gave it a mirror shine.

here is a couple pic's of the finished beast and a quick video today from the range in the wind and rain.

the shooting with it today was just off the bipod.
next week ill take the old lead sled out on a calm day and see how tight i can get her to group at the 50 yard mark.

the fist version of this gun i had my 28 year old ruger 10/22 that i got when i was 12 and stripped it down and started from scratch making a tack pusher.
that version failed when i got my Tactical Solution's barrel stuck half way into the new receiver.
version 2 had the whole package on a OD green Hogue stock with all VQ internal parts.

Still at er' I see... Gets addictive don't it? Nice job... I did a couple almost identical to yours a few years back... Except I had them in Predator stocks. They were shooter's and sold at the range. Last year I built two Speed-Tac guns with the DAR22 Sterling receivers... I believe that I will keep these ones... They shoot really accurately, but their charm is in the handling. I have another DAR build underway with a Claro Walnut Eliminator stock. I have a few build's that are gonna get sold soon... Space is tight in the safe's and I past the point of "sneaking" another safe into the house! ;-)

Have fun shootin' em!

the ammo was just cheap Blazer ammo.
it was dumping rain and i just wanted to test the gun out.
the target.... im trying to think.... i think that was the 50 foot one.
ya, cause the 168 foot one had a bigger grouping, but i think once i get some premium ammo and do it on a day when its not raining cats and dogs and windy enough to rip the targets off the backstop might be better, haha

Where is the sledge hammer? cou: :D Sorry i couldn't resist, Looks like you have a keeper now.

ah yes.
the sledge hammer.
learning how NOT to gunsmith was a big learning curve!
that only cost me a unfired $250 specially imported barrel!!!

on a related note, i have that barrel mounted and up on the wall in my shop as a 'gentle reminder'
