10/22 question/problem

New the the .22 game and I bought a brick of Federal Premium HV Match Gold Medal ammo for $60 and I had a bunch of FTE's I was shooting out of a brand new 10/22 and a brand new steel lips butler creek mag could it be that the gun or mag needs to be broken in or is the ammo over priced crap?

How did it shoot out of the factory 10rd mag?

I would agree that it's probably the magazine. It will likelly shoot a lot better once you break the rifle in with a few hundred rounds, but try the factory mags to see if it helps.

You'll find the 10/22's all seem to like American Eagle bulk ammo the best. Maybe not the most accurate but it functions really well in all 3 of my guns

My SR 22 doesn't like the AE stuff, i got a lot of stove pipes with it. Just saying sometimes there just isn't a perfect go to round for all with the 10/22.

My 10/22's dont like the AE either.... i wish they did cause its so cheap. but my advice is trying the factory mag with the federal stuff u got, sometimes the bc mags DO need breaking in, mine definitely did. if that doesnt solve the problem try experementing with different ammo's.... your may not like the stuff but mine cycle about 98% with just the federal bulk 525 packs.
