How bad did I mess up? I did my first ever bolt release modification, and now my bolt won't release at all! Did I take to much metal away? Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
 
pics of your bolt catch mod would help

You may need to round the hole off more or you put it together wrong.

Not that bad at all even if the original bolt release is pooched. You can always just order an after market one to replace it thats fairly inexpensive. Pics would help here though.
 
Just a silly question, is the spring on the right side. I didnt put it back together right the first time.
Once I stripped it down, reinstalled everything, total fix.
+1 on the hole being rounded with no rough spots.
 
Thanks guys, after about the 3rd time, I realized that I wasn't getting the spring into the little notch on the bolt release, so it would just slip of. Sure wish I had my young eyes back. thanks again for your patience.
 
Glad to help. As I said I did the same thing. Boy after the mod and a good cleaning/polishing it was slick as butter.
I bought the CH22 receiver and dlask bolt. Wow what a difference compared to stock.
