I haven't owned a 10/22 before but I am in the market for one now. My question is, can the front sight (including the barrel band) be removed? Or maybe I should say easily removed? TC

yes you can remove it. use a punch and tap it sideways (from left to right if i recall).

The barrel band is easily removed. You can even leave it off and probably get better harmonics.

the new ones have a plastic trigger guard, try and dig up an older one. (they were alluminum).

better yet, spend the money and get a laminate stock with bull barrel. great deals out there for what you get.

Just be careful when taking off the barrel band. Most of mine fit tightly and you can scratch the barrel if you're not careful.

So you dont need the barrel band on the 10/22?? Can you bolt on a bipod, without using a barrel clamp??

several models of the 10/22 do not have barrel bands, they all function the same. the barrel band is for looks.

i don't exactly understand what you mean by your second question, but if you have a sling stud, then you can attach one via that.
