I am thinking of buying a Ruger 10/22. Which is the best after-market magazine release, which are the best 25 round mags? Does anyone have a stock like this?

I know that the rifle in the pic is a Mini14 but the 10/22 stock is ident.

Thanks

Eww, that stock is horrible! The best high cap mags for the 10/22 are the Butler Creek Steel Lips mags, hands down. They fit and don't wear out at the locking points or feed lips. They eject consistantly from the built in ejector, like the factory mag.

I've tried Ramline, and BC Hotlips mags, and the Steel lips are all I buy now.

The factory Ruger BX-1 magazines are the most reliable, bar none.

I dicked around with all kinds of high capacity mags, and ended up just going with the standard 10 rounders. You can disassemble them and clean them, unlike the aftermarket ones. Sure 25 rounders LOOK cool, but I always felt like a fool clearing jams.

If you stick with the standard barrel (pretty forgiving chamber), you might work okay with hi-caps. But match chambers seem to like the Factory mags.

Just my opinion.... your milage may vary!

That stock is a Ramline and I have one with the upper barrel cover as well.
I found it quite convenient to use with a red dot sight .
Also it fits , with it's sling, over my sholder under my rain poncho when it's raining.
I've used it on Rabbits , Groundhogs and Gophers and taken quite a few Grouse as well. Use of the stock did not affect accuracy as long as the barrel band that holds on the top barrel cover is not too tight.
My stock has the alternate collapsible rear shoulder butt plate.
This stock will not take a bull barrel.

I've got a mid-80's vintage Ramline stock like that--although the butt is somewhat different. I'm not super fond of it--the lockup is quite tight but the pistol grip is set back too far for my liking. I've since resorted to using the factory stock, although I left the upper barrel cover on to get kind of an "M1 Carbine" vibe going on.

I am not sure if this is the newer or older model of the stock you are looking at. The forearm is the same but the folding butt is differant

I saw the same stock with an extra bar in the butt. The bar slid down when the rear sholder part was opened and formed a triangle. Quite neat.

I have those steel lipped B Creek mags and my 10-22 likes to jam on them all the time, sometimes i cant unload a 25 er without 2-3 jams (do they need oil?) I't might be that im using cheap ($15 for 525) ammo and it really starts to happen after about 300 rounds. Also in the manual it says not to lub up the bolt n spring to much or all the burnt powder make s a tar with the oil. If anyone has ideas not to get so many jams with my tack driver please let me know, thanks !!
