I was looking for a reciaver to build a .22 super shooter on but wasen't wanting to buy a full rifle to rip it apart just for 1 piece .

Is there anyone in Canada who is or would make just a ruger style reciever ?

Also if there is so much aftermarket parts for builds out there is there a particular reason that Ruger dosen't offer just the reciever for sale because there really seems to be a market for them . I know I wouldn't think twice of just getting 2-3 of them if I knew that I wouldn't have all those original parts lying around wasted !!!

I dont have the info infront of me but there are aftermarket 10/22 receivers that are wayyyyyy better than the ruger one. Get a Valquestran (sp)... it also has a 1913 rail on the top .. machined into it - less moving parts than screwing on a 1913 aftermarket one. There is another co in the states and theirs is really nice also but I dont remember their name.

Bah. They're sure pretty, eh? I don't think they will ship you barrels, let alone a full receiver though. It's a start though!

Milarm in Edmonton had (has) a factory receiver in their 10/22 showcase about 2 weeks ago. Cannot remember the price but it wasn't priced too high. Give them a call, it's probably still there.

Buy a cheap rifle, that means stock production (new or un-modified).
Sell all the parts but the receiver to recover some money.
Stock and barrel won't return much money
(they are crap and there are too many for sale).
Bolt and trigger group should sell easy.

Speaking of which, I'm gonna put an ad in the EE right now for a bolt,
I just remember I need one
