I recently acquired another 10/22, this time a takedown model. I have had lots of .22s and a few 10/22 and I usually put on fixed powered 32mm scopes, etc. I'd like to put a red dot or something similar on this one. Any suggestions about what you like or works for you? I'll take some input then off to the EE!

Thanks

I have an el cheapo Tasco red dot on a 10/22 take-down that I carry in the combine. Surprised me how accurate the little rifle is. Minute of skunk is good enough for that one.

I figured I'd give a red dot a try on my Chiappa Little Badger 22lr. for grouse hunting, but didn't want to spend to much in case I didn't like it. I got myself a Barska 1x40mm Dual Colour Red Dot Scope at Cabela's when it was half price ($60). It's my first so I have nothing to compare it too, all I know is the grouse fall dead when I point the red dot at them and pull the trigger.

At 40mm it's a little bulky, but it's nice to be able to sight in the birds quickly.

I have not played with scopes or mounts on my takedown yet. I got the stainless/synthetic model and love it. This is the rifle I hope to teach my daughter to shoot with one day. It is so light and invincible. Wish I could get some of the BX mags they still advertise for in the bag when bought new. Come to think of it I have only bought 2 new rifles. Both .22's
Following for ideas

I have a weaver 20 mm red dog that I just bought on my cooey64 I pieced together from the EE. 10 mini mags can be covered by a dime at 20 meters. It's held up on my slug gun as well. I'm not sure what model number it is. It came with my walther night hawk
