Just put together a nice rig for fall target practise.

10/22 with trigger tuned - have had this action for about a decade and it has worked great.

Shilen SS match barrel. 18" heavy barrel. Loves Eley Target and puts them in one small hole at 60yds.

Promag Archangel Target stock - really enjoying the fit of this stock. Inletting is really nice and holds the action very well. Adjustable buttstock is great to accomodate smaller shooters or winter clothes.

Scope is the Sightron SII Big Sky 36X w/ fine cross hair. A bit overkill but it is sure nice when a 22cal hole is a huge aiming point. Burris Sig Zee rings used.

Enjoy...

I was very surprised at how good these Promag products have become. The erognomics are excellent and the stocks are very rigid. Quality of molding is also top notch.

Makes for a very nice target stock at an attractive price.

How does it do at 100? I want to see 5 shot groups! Shouldn't be too hard with that scope.

If the weather is perfect enough.

Hey Jerry, thats almost exactly what I did with my barrel once I got it. Except mine was a 16" barrel and I used a Dlask receiver, Kidd bolt and Hornet 2 stage trigger.

Nicely done.

I had a chance to see a DLASK receiver on the weekend when I delivered the parts. Very nicely done indeed.

My customer was thinking of another receiver to go with the Shilen barrel and I suggested he talk to Joe to see if they can size the interior to fit his bolt. Solves the bolt wiggle issue all too common in a 10/22.

Will see if they can get their CNC program adjusted.

Nice rig. What ammo have you found it like the most?

What type of groups are you getting?

Consider bedding the rear portion of the action and stock. The front is very well held but the rear has some play. Just did one for a local shooter and it should keep his bullets right in the group.

His is with a 18" fluted McGowen. I'll ask if he is ok with me posting pics of his rifle.

Here is a project I just put together for a customer on the Weekend.

Note: the extended mag release and scope were already added.

McGowen Fluted CM blued 18" barrel. Recessed target crown. Bentz chamber.

Very impressed with the quality of the fluting.

I also bedded the rear of the stock which should hold the action much better. The front end is very tight so no bedding was needed there.

Should shoot great and hoping hear back on a range report in the future.
