We were out the the range today sighting a scope in on our 10/22 and found that it was shooting about 2 feet low at 100 yds.

Even with the sight adjusted to the max elevation we were able to cut that number but were still about 8 inches to low.

Any useful suggestions to bring the scope in line, the lads at the range suggested shimming with metal cut from a soda can.

Anyone run into this issue on a 10/22?

If the ammo is not very low velocity, then you have barrel droop
(you either have a barrel that sits very sloppy in the receiver,
or you free-floated the barrel).

I'd try swapping the rings front to back, and see if it makes a difference. Check for loose barrel, base, rings etc too, or try a different scope if you can get ahold of one.

Have a look at the base to reciever mount 1022s have been known to have a hump in the top of the receiver do to a worn mould.but more than likey it will be barrel droup.check your v-block.

I did some more reading and found out about a condition called Ruger 'Hump' as well. Thanks for all the input. I'll break it down and put it all back together as best I can and see if it makes a differance.

The 10/22 Tips and Trick Sticky has been a big help as well. I'll range report the findings to see if any of these tricks help.
