10/22 shorty

Decided I'd like one for blasting at the range and rabbit hunting.

Whats the shortest combination I can go with? I want a conventional fixed stock like magpul or Hogue, no chasis's. Might consider a boyds as well. Looking at dlask for the bbl. I have a receiver but am open to buying a take down as I like the look of the backpacker stocks and short bbl combo

As long as you are over 26" OAL, you are good. Most stocks are more than 26" to start which allows you to use any barrel length you choose... I have done 8", 10", 12", 16" barrels for shorty builds, really up to you.

Magpul Backpacker with the aluminum Magpul forward optic mount and a 12.5" Dlask barrel and Vortex Crossfire dot is what I did to mine. Carries nice and makes a trim little piece of kit when transporting it around.

If you wanted the full size magpull hunter x22, the 12" dlask barrel is as short as you want to go. Even with that set up I'm putting on a finger stop, way to easy for you digits to migrate...then detach!

Just made a deal on a takedown with a 9 inch adaptive tactical tac hammer. Cant wait to get it. Looks fun. Also have a 16" bbl. Need to find a second magpul to forend now

I saw one on social media with a suppressor. I feel like it was a 7 or 8" barrel, suppressor brought it out to flush with the tip of the Magpul stock. It was slick.

I've assembled a few with 9" threaded charger bbls which are getting hard to find. I've had to extend the butt pad or pin the stock to meet OAL.

I'm in Ontario never thought hunting regs had a min bbl length

I agree in the bc hunting regs anything under a 12' barrel is considered a pistol.
