I've thought it over quite a bit and wish to purchase a 10/22. However, I have a few questions:

1- How much should I expect for a new rifle? How about a used one?
2- Are there many stock options available in Canada? Where abouts?
3- How reliable/precise are they?

Thank you fellas, I know you won't let me down! :)

EDIT: I just found the Krinker conversion. Any other worthy mods?

1. A new 10/22, your looking at about $250 plus shipping and taxes. A used 10/22 holds its retail value really good so a used one is probably going to be about $250-$260 shipped.

2. Bits of Pieces carries the Revival industries stocks. I would highly reccomend them.

3. Are you talking about the stock or the gun its self?

3. The gun itself, but from what I've read it seems to be more than adequate.

Yes, they are preatty good. The odd one you may find my not eject properly using certain kinds of ammo (from what I have read this is fairly rare) but can easily be fixed by installing a VQ exactor. As far as how precise they are. Out of the box, I wouldn't expect anything great. If your getting 1 inch groups at 50 yards out of the factory barrel, your doing not bad. Now with the addition of a GOOD aftermarket barrel, you can expect 1/2 inch groups or better at 50 yards.

Soli, I highly recommend you try a 10-22 to see how you like the way that it handle before you by one. If you want to modifly it and it is a good choice. If you want to trust a stock 10-22 will give you good and fun time, then you better look for something else. Now make sure you understand that what we talk about a 10-22 is just the reciever because people buy a 10-22 and replaced everything except the reciever. If 10-22 is that good and why we should have do that? I had one and sold it . Sorry that I give you some cold shower but it just my personal feeling for owned that ####ing piece of junk for three months.
Good luck

I don't care about the original 10/22 itself; I care that the Krinker kit will function well and be acceptably accurate.

... which leads me to my next question: is it possible to acquire the receiver alone somehow ? I assume this would be difficult, but if there's a way, I'd love to know. :)

Unless you are lucky enought to find one on here, from someone selling it used, basically no. A couple places in the US sell them but getting it across the border would be WAY to hard. It would be like shipping a gun across.
