10/22 tactical Stock removal?

Did you buy it new? If not it's possible that someone bedded it and it actually is locked in the stock. If you did buy new just take out the single takedown screw, #### it and dry fire it and move the crossbolt safety to the middle position (between safe and fire) and the stock hould come off. You can lightly tap it upside down, using the barrel as a "handle", on carpeted floor if need be. Hope this helps.
 
  • remove take down screw
  • remove barrel band
  • put safety to HALF way in
  • grab the fore stock and the end of the barrel and pull in opposite directions
