10/22 takedown forend screw size

Can anyone tell me what screw is needed to secure the forestock to the barrel assembly on a takedown 10/22? Is it the same as the rear action screw or something different?

I can tell you that both screws are the same. What the size or thread is I cannot say.

There's a guy on the EE that sells those screws in stainless. Look under the rimfire parts section.

12 24 thread approx 1 1/8 " long

I got a rear takedown screw to try. It is the same thread and shank length but the Allen head protrudes a mm or two out of the forestock, so it is indeed a different screw with a shorter head.
