10/22 takedown without forend and barrel band

Does anyone have a pic of a 10/22 takedown without forend and barrel band? Is anyone running their 10/22 TD with this setup and if so does it improve accuracy? Thanks

just looked at mine, appears the forend holds the takedown mechanism. Do not think it is possible. correct me if i'm wrong...

You are incorrect, you could run without the forend and or barrel band. I think for a plinker/ small game getter, the increase in accuracy would not be that much. You do save a bit of weight by forgoing the forend, but for me the option of a sling for carry is something I would like to have. They could be more problematic for accuracy though if you applied much force to the sling while shooting off hand maybe.

Because the stock is already in two pieces, isn't the barrel already floating?

Its a TAKEDOWN RIFLE NOT A PRECISION SHOOTER! FFS people, stop trying to turn a plinker into a precision system. It shoots just fine as is.
