Anyone ever have a problem with a .22 Rimfire key holing.
This rifle was unable to hit paper at 50 yards so it was tested at 5 & 10 yards.
The tightening ring was tried in various degrees of tightness from all the way tight to loosened off one turn.
Different ammo was tried (Rem Thunderbolt and CCI Standard Velocity.
A number for a local gunsmith was supplied.
While stories of poor accuracy have surfaced, I have never seen a 22 keyhole before.

Did you look down the barrel?

I've seen a few different rifles and hanguns keyholing after even just 50 rounds of CCI Blazer gummed up the bore.

Stopped using that crap, and haven't had issues since.

I just started lubing the bullets with spillage from my luber sizer to be able to get rid of what I had left, then discovered that they worked pretty good.

The only 22LR I've ever seen keyhole was a dirty barrel on a microgrooved mossberg plinkster.

Odd how Blazer is the round that is consistently mentioned as one of the best to use in various semi-autos by a great many people, including many on gunnutz.
I've got a Mossberg 715 with at least 5000 rounds and a GSG 1911 with half that...both work best with Blazers.

Looked down the bore and it does have rifling.
Thank goodness it is someone else's problem.
I offered to let him shoot the CZ or the Anschutz . . . to get his confidence back.
