10/22 Thompson kit?

Anyone have one of these? Am thinking of doing a build of one...but A)wanted to know if they were any good from someone who has and B) - can't seem to find the kits anymore...Fabsports used to have them but I don't see them on the website.

Would love to see some pics, or hear from folks that have built one.
 
I read about the "squad leader" Thompson look-a-like kit using the Ruger 10/22 in a recent "American Rifleman" article.

If this is the same kit you're referring to ( 10/22 fun gun .com), the maker currently has no plans to do any exports. Although it'd be great to see them here.
 
I bought one last winter on the ee, but haven't really used it much. Its well made, when you look at it up close, you can see a lot of effort went into the development. I made a few minor changes to mine, didn't care for the sights it came with. Still trying to make a functional stick mag work properly, but making do with a modded promag drum for now.
 
1022fungun is still trying for export approval.
It's going to be a long, rocky road...but we will be traveling it along with many other companies that cannot export due to the current restrictive regulations and policies.

Bought the kit off EE and I think it was $350. Very well made and works really well with Black Dog drums (no f__king around like the Promag). A short finned barrel would be nice but haven't found one so far. Anyone got 1 to sell?

I asked Fabsports about the barrels when I was planning on buying the kit. If I recall, he told me they did a batch of them, and he wasn't sure if they were getting more done. I guess they didn't, if they aren't even advertising the kits anymore. Know someone with a lathe? Buy a heavy barrel and turn it down.
 
I got to handle one at the range in Mission. It had the proper looking barrel on it. Overall it was a very tight, solid, and clean looking kit. It's something I'd definitely like to have in my arsenal.
 
Nice looking rig! Definitely want one... I talked to Mr Ar15 who made the kits for Fabsports - said they were out, but that they might do another run in a couple of years.

Finned barrel would really look awesome!
