you can get the 50 round promag but they are unreliable at best. I have not seen them from Fabrice

I'm not sure either if they will fit the thompson frame

That is insanely high for something made in Canada and that does not include the $170 barrel or the $70 mag that is not even a mag, just an extention you attach to the factory 10 round mag.
For $70 they could have made a real 25 round clip.

with Taxes you are looking at close to $800 for just the kit ... another $300 for the 10/22 if you dont have one yet.

I would love one but not at that price.

how does 500+ taxes = 800$?
are you out of your mind? Even in Quebec, where we pay the most taxes the unit would cost me 565$ + shipping (about 20$ since I'm close, you'd pay more but save TVQ)

Plus, check the Brownells kit, 399$. Do you get fooled by this price? This means 400$ in other words, not 300$. Add-in the exchange rate, we're looking at about 420$ before shipping, which would be about 30USD for the unit. Since, it is over 100$, Brownells won't ship it, unless you get the proper papers which will run you 150USD (or a pile of paper to fill)

I know not everyone is rich, me first, but common man

Let's compare apples to apples here. The kit on brownell is $339USD (which @ today's rate is $355.35 CAD before shipping) without the magazine while Fab sports sells the same parts for $495 CAD. So assuming your numbers are right about the paperwork and shipping they will be around the same price.
 
I have one built up, I do not want to think about how much I have invested. the kit, plus mag bottom, plus finned barrel, plus 1928 front stock, plus muzzle brake. the rifle I traded for work, so that was only labour.
It looks great, but I am sure I have more than $850 into the parts and taxes alone. If I allow 150 for a used rifle.. well you get the picture.

I am sure I could never realize that out of the ruger IF i neededto liquidate it. but then I never sell anything. My widow can worry about that some day.

He means the complete kit is $800 because the first $500 doesn't include the barrel or the mag extension.

No matter how you look at it its pretty steep for dress-up parts.

A friend just got a fabsport complete with the barrel with cooling fins. Its a beautiful piece of work. Its engineered to not only look authentic but to feel authentic, the weight and balance are all correct. Not cheap but you get what you pay for, I guess.

Read the entire post before you comment .... I said $800 includes the barrel and mag that is not included with the kit that you will obviously need if you want it to look like a tommy gun

yeah i read it, but it wasnt clear wether you talked about the kit or kit + other odds and ends
