Hello,

When you look at your trigger return spring on your 10/22 does it look like it is cant at an angle to the trigger?

When I disassemble my trigger group and try to put the return spring in - the plunger comes out at an angle and my trigger doesn't reset after each shot (I have to press it forward with my finger).

Is there any way to fix this without replacing the entire trigger group?

I tried putting a stronger spring in - but it didn't fix the problem.

Thanks!

Yes, my 10/22's trigger plunger is canted at an angle to the trigger - as have all others I have seen. That is odd that when a heavier spring was put in it still isn't returning. You might want to try polishing some of the parts in the trigger group so that it smooth it up.

Other than that check on Rimfire central. There have been many different people who have come up with different ways to alternate ways to reset the trigger - taking out the trigger plunger completely and having a lighter pull weight. I tried one meathod and it worked well for me.

There is also one other thing - the trigger finish where the trigger plunger makes contact is chipped away a little. It looks as if the plunger slides a bit to the left when the trigger doesn't return.

Not to be sarcastic - what do you mean when you say "polish some of the parts?"

I'm thinking a simple wipe down with some break free?

round and polish the plunger smooth thats what I did works like a charm, Use polishing compound and dremel. there a sticky on the top of this page that shows you what to do
