I just bought a couple toy's at the Chilliwack Gun Show this weekend. I didn't even know Ruger made anything like this. I bought a Ruger #1 International 7x57 Mauser about 2 months ago. When I saw this I knew it was coming home with me, to be with it's big brother. The owner said he bought it about 15 years ago. I had a 10/22 years ago and I had a gunsmith fix the trigger to lighten it up. It was a great little gun, but one day I got rid of a bunch on guns. Ya, I know  The Gunsmith has passed away now and I am at a loss as far as getting work done on it. What are some options as far as triggers and maybe a mag release, etc. Jack

Fabsports a site sponsor sells 10-22 parts as well as Mystic precision see top of page.I beleive bits of pieces in vancouver also sells parts.

tactical solutions makes a lever-style mag release that actually looks kinda like a #1 lever. the onlly problem i see is that you could hook it on something, and your mag might drop out without you knowing. they look cool though.

I checked those sites, but I am at a bit of a loss. Seems like a lot of $$$ Is there not a quick "Cheap" solution. Years ago a gun smith friend fixed the heavy trigger pull on my 10/22 quickly and very cheaply, but he has passed away. What is everyone favorite solution to the heavy trigger pull ?

Check out rimfirecentral.com and go through the stickys you will find a do it yourself for lighting the trigger pull.but be aware that you call easly cause safety problems with the rifle by do the trigger mod.also checkout you tube you may find something there aswell.I would suggest buying the parts as they are proven to work and are safe.

The 10/22 trigger group is very easy to work on .only thing i recomend is not to remove the safety button .on you tube there is a disassembly video which is very good.just replacing the hammer will give you a much better trigger pull.I beleive the volquartsen hammer will reduce the trigger pull to about 2 3/4 to 3 # .from the factory the trigger is some where around 7#.so the hammer alone makes quite a difference.you can also polish the sear and disconnecter which will make the trigger smoother as well.

The rimfirecentral.com site has a lot of info there. "Volquartsen" seems to be a common name in barrels and what not. I will have to get out and shoot this new rifle, for all I know someone may have fixed it already. Thanks for the tips. Jack
