Looking for opinions from people with SBR's/PDW's on optics selections. Currently debating on 3 choices.....

1)Vortex Sparc

2)Lucid HD7

3)Aimpoint H1 or T1 Micro

Vortex and Lucid are barely under $300 but the Aimpoint is just over $700. Anyone out there with these three, would you mind giving me an opinion? Pro's/Con's, what you like, don't like etc.

Without a doubt Aimpoint Micro T1 with 2 MOA dot.

Consider the aimpoint pro model. It is 2 moa, comes with accessories(flip caps, mount) and shares the high quality expected from Aimpoint. If budget is a consideration this would be my choice. Otherwise the t1 setup above is great, but the mounts etc will set you back twice the coin all in.

Ever consider the Trijicon RMR with the ADM "co-witness" mount?, IMO for short CQB distances the size and weight savings are a bonus.

Here is a pic of Pat McNamara running one in the US.

I use Aimpoint H-1's extensively. I have also used Aimpoint M2 and M3's in the night vision and non-night vision capable versions. If you are seriously looking at Aimpoints then there are a couple of things to use as guidelines.
- use night vision? T1, M2, M3, M4
- no night vision - H-1, ML2, ML3, PRO
- weight is an issue? - H-1, T-1
- weight not an issue - Pro, M series (2/3/4 etc)
- cost an issue - Pro

- I have also used Doctor optics and Eo-tech's. If battery is an issue stay away.
- if reliability is an issue - stay away from eo-tech for the most part. yes they are being used by militaries around the world - they have big budgets, when it breaks, they just get another one for the most part. there is a lot of anecdotal information on the troubles with eo-techs.

I have NO experience with the vortex or lucids.

if all you are doing is charging targets they may be perfectly fine for you. even the eo-techs should be ok for that.

Thanks for the opinions everyone. I figured Aimpoint was the way to go, just needed some reinforcing. Don't plan on NVG use, so H-1 it is.

Make sure you go with the 2 MOA Micro H-1.

Save the 4 MOA dot for your Benelli M4.
