Just got my new Spike's Tactical 11.5" 22LR upper with thanks to Fabrice @ Fabsports.

Also got a few more Black Dog Machine .22LR 26 Round magazines thanks to the team @ Questar.

Impressions:

Feels like a real upper, because it is one, milspec upper/handguards/charging handle, etc.
BDM mags feel kinda loose in the lower, about a 1 - 1.5mm gap all around.
Milspec charging handle sucks compared to my LMT tactical one.
Bolt locks back on the follower, but no CMMG kit to keep it back once the mag is released, probably going to try to get one.

Bought the complete upper vs a bolt kit for my 10.5 because of worries of shooting out the upper that AFAIK is no longer exportable, hope to see some good accuracy due to the 11.5" 1/16 twist barrel.

If you notice, the 11.5" is actually shorter (ever so slightly) than the 10.5 because of how far back the barrel goes in the upper.

Only thing that sucks is I didn't get the standard front sight gas block that I wanted, hopefully someone responds with one that they are not using to my EE post.

I hope to turn it into a clone of my 5.56 upper, and start putting some serious rounds down range. As of right now the round count on the 5.56 upper is 60  rounds due to my local range only being pistol caliber, I have not tested out the Safariland/RVG combo to date. I bought the combo to be able to quickly mount my TLR2S to my AR from my P226 incase I ever need it. Will probably go to some sort of real rail in the future.

Going to take it out to the range on friday and give a range report. Should put at least one brick of 525 Fed bulk through it, maybe 2. Will have a borrowed Vortex Strikefire for the test.
