10 ga double barrel - who makes one?

Ithaca 'used to' make one but that a while back. The one I have made by AYA and I'm not sure if they're still being made. I sold the first one I had and then kicked my butt for doing so. Then I got the opportunity to pick up another the same. The wood in this one is a little better than the first.

Decent wood

Nice looking gun John! Thanks for showing me that.

So I take it no commercial makers (Winchester, Browning, Ithica, etc) are making a SXS 10 ga these days. So it becomes a matter of finding a "used" one?

Rats! Something else I have to add to my "Must try to find" list. I thought maybe I'd get lucky and just be able to order one!

Perhaps put a WTB post in equipment exchange forum, Exchange of Shotguns. Never know what might turn up:).

Definetly a used item would be easier to come by. I picked up a 10 Ga. Eibargun ((Spanish)) double in pretty darn good condition for $350 on the 'net. Nice double you have there, John. A bit fancier than mine, better wood, mine does not have that case hardening.

:eek:I have infront of me, a hard copy I was just given of a classified ad from "GUNSAMERICA". GA# 976444130, an AYA 10ga being sold by G.R. Young Outfitters, $1,295.oo!!:eek:

A while back I was thinking of having the chokes opened so I could use steel. I did opt instead to go for Bismuth shot, primarily because of the nice tight patterens this gun shoots. With the shape it's in, plus the nice wood and now the value, it's definately going to be Bismuth.

Using 2 1/4oz handloads, that would definately be more than 'ouch' and would shake all the cobwebs loose.

Using 1 7/8 oz handloads is definately more then ouch, it's in the whiplash category, I'll pass on the 2 1/4 oz loads doubling.

There is someone in Europe who supposedly has all the stuff to set up for 10 gauge doubles again, they just need enough orders to make a run. I don't know all the details but Will Bilozir was telling me about it. bilozir.net fire him an email and he can probably fill you in.

I've made contact with Will on two previous occassions. The first was on reload details and supplies for using Bismuth in my 10ga. I contacted him again just a short while back about getting some Bismuth and the last I heard he was inquiring about shot size, quantity and prices and was going to get back to me. I haven't heard so I'll have to give him another shout fairly soon.
