10 gauge Hevi Shot 00 Buckshot first impressions

Wow....impressive price for just 5 of them. But myself and a shooting buddy did try them out today.

Out of a full choke barrel @20 yards, tight (I think) 7-8inch pattern on the board using just the bead sight of course. 15 pellet load, and at least four of them within 3 inches of the very centre.

Steamy load but a nice killing pattern too!

Don't get the wrong impression please. These are not to be expended willy nilly on small game or upland game. That's what my black powder shotshells are fully intended for.

These expensive shotshells are reserved for the big varmints. Such as wolves, which we can sometimes stumble across while bird hunting up here.

If things weren't so tight in my industry I'd buy a few boxes. I'll have to settle with the 10g Slugs and duplex #4/#6 loads I have on hand. It's hard to beat the range or power of the mighty 10 gauge!
