I need some 10rnd mags for 3 gun....

I have lots of experience with LAR mags and dont mind them, however I really like polymer mags aswell.

Ive been looking at a few different models and are wondering what ur opinions are on them?

1) MFT 10 rnd mags they look nice, and I like how GSdesigns appears to have really robust looking extensions for them. Apposed to the spindly LAR ones which i think is a huge bonus!

2) Troy Industrys 10rnd mags Now ive never even heard of these before, and am wondering if there even available in Canada ?! if so, they are affordable and look super attractive cus they already have the extension built in :D

Sooooo u guys are saying that everyone who owns 10 rnd MFT mags in Canada and the companys that are selling them are actually in possession and selling prohibited devices ?

For now I would say that if you can walk into a retailer and buy them off the shelf they are legal.

BUT... it is up to you to stay current on the legality of them, if the RCMP change their minds and change the rules like with the Beowulf mags simply saying you didn't know is not a defense in court.
It is your responsibility to know the law, and not their responsibility to notify you.
The problem with coming here for answers is that you get people's opinion or personal interpretation which isn't always accurate.

Totally agree with you.

Yep. 'Tis the truth.
Which is really awesome for those that don't live on CGN or any other online forum 24/7, happen to own a rifle that takes the magazines, and just happen to go into a gun store one day, buy a 10 round "pistol" magazine that's legal to use in their AR-15/Tavor/AR-180B/XCR/whatever-else-takes-them, and get arrested the day after the Mounties change the classification for possession of a prohibited device when all they did the day before was legally buy a magazine for their legally owned rifle.
Point is, how do they get the message to the masses? Not everyone is a member of CGN, not everyone that is looks at all the subforums or logs in regularly. Not everyone even has the internet. And any that do, likely aren't checking the RCMP website every day for firearm classification changes.
If it wasn't for CGN I wouldn't have known that my 858 was reclassified several years ago.
If it wasn't for CGN I wouldn't have known the Butler Creek 25 round 10/22 magazines were reclassified to "prohibited". Hell, I still have to warn people that they are now prohib.
No registered letter from the RCMP ever came to me advising me of these classification changes. Who checks the RCMP firearm pages regularly? I'm guessing not many farmers or casual plinkers.

Well my original intent for this thread was simply to get opinions on how mags like the MFT's function.... Instead I got legal advise lol. But it's all good regardless :) I bought some from wanstalls anyways. And the extensions from GSdesigns. Hopefully they function well.

Function is dependent on the firearm, what works in my rifle may not work in yours. My advice is usually to buy one and go try it, then if it works well with your rifles go buy five more.

Same with the hexmag 10/30 being regarded as prohibited by the rcmp.

As the poster stated above. People's personal thoughts on legality can/will get you in to expensive legal costs (best case scenario)

The onus is on you to be up to date with current rcmp interpretation on items as they inspect them, sometimes this takes them years of waiting for manufacturers in other countries to supply documentation.

It has never been a requirement in the past for the RCMP to do so, why should it be now?

Those of us who owned firearms like the spass12, 10B, T97, Jager, etc know that you don't get notified prior to a knock on the door demanding the item turned over or you get arrested as a criminal if you do not comply.

The courts have not taken issue how these overnight prohibitions came about and were enforced in the past either....why do you think it would matter now?
