I am thinking of buying a few 10 round mags for my Norc commander length 1911 in .45ACP. Are there any brands to avoid? Good deals to be found? Best dealer/supplier to order from?

Thanks,
Mark

Agreed. Chip McCormick or Tripp Research would be the only 10-round mags that I would trust to be consistently reliable.

Chip McCormick 10-round Power Mags are available through Arms East, but you have to order the Tripp mags direct from Tripp Research in Texas. They are good to deal with and do ship a lot of mags to Canada.

Chip McCormick, available at Armseat

Agree with this for best quality and value.

Wilson Combats and Chip McC are the ones I use and they have both functioned perfectly. I think the WC have better followers but I like how the CMC have witness holes for every round. I am split 50/50 on whether or not I prefer having the extended basepad thing... though I think the WC looks a little ###ier.

I was unable to decide which ones I liked better so I went with both. I have also heard the Tripp mags are great too.

I'm not a big fan of the CZ75 Mec Gar mags....I find they suck balls. If you can get 100% metal (except follower of course) mags, then that would be the best option. All Mec Gar mags I've scene are 1/3 plastic at the bottom, but I don't know about the 1911 ones though.
