10 round mags for SW M&P 15-22

Now that the 25 round mag for the Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 is prohibited is there any dealer in Canada that currently has, in stock and available, the 10 round mags?

My attempts to get them through the local store have been futile. All I ever hear is "they are on order...".

I don't know about Canadian dealers, but you can order them directly from S&W in the States.

Something to consider: I got some pinned 10/25 mags from a local source. They have a very stiff spring and no follower button. A real PITA to load. You would be better off with regular 10 round mags.

Yeah, the store that sold me my 15-22 told me to get them pinned, but WTF - they'll never work as well and who wants the extra length in the mag.

Same people told me not to worry about the possible prohibition of the 25 rnd magazine when I bought the rifle in December. It would never happen, or I would get the 10 rnd mags. I actually ORDERED the 10 rnd mags from them in December.... and still no sign. What a disappointment. Lesson learned.

Works wonderfully, out of all my magazines no issues. To be compliant with the law you have to glue the bottoms in place permanently.

No, they don't fit. S&W seems to be the only manufacturer that makes a mag for the 15-22, so far anyway.

Well that sucks. I was under the impression that the MP15-22 was compatible with most of the AR stuff.

I have the 10 round full length S&W mag. Hate them. There's no load assist.

But Questar does indeed have a Black Dog drum mag for it

Most of the furniture is compatible - pistol grips, carry handles, stocks, etc. Also the trigger assembly. But that's about it.

Evidently it was deemed an evil "variant" because it has an upper and lower receiver, like a real AR, and uses similar controls (selector lever, mag release, etc.) You cannot fit a .223 upper on the 15-22 lower, or vice versa.

i ordered mine straight from s&w. i took them out and they didnt feed worth ####.. 9 out of 10 failed to load !! Now my 25 rounds are sent off to get pinned and have not seen them since.

I got a 50rd drum from them, just after the 25 rders became a prohibited device. But 50 rds OK! Something wrong with the logic here. Oh yeah, it's a gov't ruling.
