10 shot Mp15-22 mags PLZ

LOL

No limit on .22LR Mags, read the laws. 10 round mags is for pistol and 5 round for rifles.

um any sources on this? I havent heard anything about this yet.. im not going to be happy pinning a 25 rd mag to ten on a .22 rifle thats already just a range toy.. thats f*ing fustrating.

And telling any prying cops or anti gunners just where to find them when the come for them (and the rest of your guns for knowingly keeping prohibited items). ;)

S&W 15-22 mags

I spoke with the CFO today and the importer and there is no panic as of yet! No one is going to be enforcing this any time soon if at all.

The CFO of Ont. and Sask both said to me the same thing.
They were not aware of the delema and to date nothing has been told to them about enforcment of the mag and it's place in the books is unclear. They will keep me in the loop.

It may come down to a certain company just wanting to sell there Black dog mags as we panic to hide our S&W mags.

That's a pretty sleazy and unsubstantiated accusation to be throwing around... All of this is very new and it is no surprise that it has not been communicated out to the CFOs yet. Of course the CFOs can't talk about enforcing anything until they hear the official word from the RCMP.

You need to think a little longer and harder before accusing a fellow dealer of this kind of underhanded tactic...

Cart before horse

We have sold and still sell this product.
116 call and e-mails in the last 2 days alone about something the CFO's and RCMP don't even know about or have issue with as of yet.

Maybe a little over worked taking calls about something that was brought to public , RCMP and CFO attention buy someone who does not sell this product. By going public you just forced the hand of the powers that be!

There is much debate about this to come, is it not up to the CFO and RCMP to blow the horn on such important changes that affect so many and not a dealer who does not have anything to do with this product? Accept replacement mags! This just caused pre mature B.S. for all who sell this guns and mags. Not to mention the over 2000 people who bought the guns and mags!

Look at it as you will, this is how I see it at this time, no names mentioned. Are we not allowed a diffrence of opinion? It's :canadaFlag: is it not?
I like the idea of having my say on my fourm, and the right to protect the sales and customers of my store, this what I pay for.

If there is a ruling against the mags ,the public will be notified to have them fixed or turned in, during a short term amnesty period. As the public did not cause this any more then the dealers. No need to panic!!!!

Rea his next message, which is above.

Definitely makes sense, I was wondering myself when it came up at first.

.

Yep. I think I definitely mis-read the intent of his original post. Thanks Badger for clarifying things. I actually agree with your no need to panic yet message. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Besides being insulting your statement is inaccurate.

  • FACT... Questar had one of the first S&W M&P 15-22 Rifles in Canada and waited months (along with North Sylva) for the RCMP to classify the gun so we could put them up for sale... so fact is that we were "selling" the S&W M&P 15-22 Rifle (and the 25 round magazine) long before you ever got your first unit from the distributor.
  • FACT... Questar has been aware of the RCMP ruling on the magazine since July 8th and has been continuously fighting for clarification on the status of the magazine in rifle configurations since that time.
  • FACT... Questar was sent a written outline last week of the 'clarification' and statement that the magazine was indeed a Prohibited Device and that this applied to the rifle configuration as well.
  • FACT... Questar has inventory of those magazines that were declared "Prohibited Devices" so we got caught up in this just like everyone else and my post last Friday was intended only to let the firearms community know what the RCMP had done since they had not yet notified the CFO's (which they stated was being done "this week")... and they apparently were in no hurry to announce it publicly.
  • FACT... The RCMP updated the on-line FRT tables to reflect their new ruling and we confirmed this before making any public announcement.

This has nothing to do with our Black Dog magazines... this has to do with Questar being told we and our customers were now suddenly in possession of Prohibited Devices. We confirmed that information both by written communication with the RCMP and by viewing the on-line FRT where that info was clearly stated. We passed that information on to the firearms community.

To suggest that our motive was to instill fear and sell our BD magazines is infuriating... I never would have believed you would say that.

You believe what you want and do what you like. Regardless of what the CFO is saying right now, it is clear that RCMP has declared them prohibited and that enforcement of that will be coming. I would never continue to sell to my customers an item that was confirmed to have been declared a "Prohibited Device" but that's just me.

I can't believe that I'm being accused of ulterior motives because I made this information public after spending months fighting it and getting confirmation of the application of their ruling.

I think not. I would say Questar by flying knee KO.

maybe even a devastating flaming uppercut?
