Bought a couple of these battlepacks marked MANUFACTURED IN UKRAINE. The plant,LUGANSK was issued plant numbers 904 , 911 , and 270.
the ammo in the 5 plain boxes contain cartridges with headstamps 711 over 81.
this indicates mfg.date 1981 and 711 indicates the RUSSIAN PLANT KLIMOVSKII !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not UKRAINE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2-300 rnd's is what I bring for an afternoon with 1 sks, a crate would be more applicable for "battle" if you ask me and cheaper over the long run.

you missed it. A battle pack is what would typically be carried by a front line soldier for an SKS. You don't see soldiers running around with a crate of ammo on their back for personal use.

I know what a battle pack is, lol. My original question was why buy smaller ammo packs when a crate is available. More you buy the better the price usually...

Those "battle packs" are all marketing hype. They crack open a case of ammo and re-wrap it in packs of 100 and charge double.

I must be lucky. Wife says nothing about ammo because she uses more then I do at the range. She is into 22lr though. I looked at those battle packs before and they are just repacks. Nothing special or wild.
