100 Years Old

In celebration of the 270 WCF turning 100 years old in 2025. My hunting rig for next year.

McMillan stock?

The person that I quoted, stated that the 270win and 6.5PRC are ballistic equivalent. I have heard several people, hard core 270win fans, state that the 270win and 7mmremmag were essentially the same ballistically.
We get it. You're a flavour of the week kinda guy. Now if only you had practical experience on how much more "dead" animals shot with a 6.5prc are than those hit with a .270. But maybe your experience cutting paper at 500 yds say the 6.5prc really is Utopia.

Also a bit unfair of you to throw God's cartridge, the 7rm, into the conversation.

100yrs. Wow
270 is a great caliber. One of the best ever.
Along with the 30-06, these ol calibers remain as standard offerings in almost every major firearms manufacturer for a reason.
The argument for better calibers is endless.
I'm a reload nut so I like em all. All good just different.
Pick the one you like and get the flock out there.
Man buns do deserve to be ridiculed though lol

Actually, my go to cartridge since 1990, has been the 7mmstw, although I have used several other cartridges in over 50 years hunting big game.

Nice cartridge. Possibly the best of the 7's. I've kept it simple over 54 years. 270, 7rm, and 35 Whelen. Covers everything in Alberta including the mean bears if required, even though the 270 will get that done too.
A friend guides in the Yukon and over the last 13 years has killed 7 grizz. All with a 270 and 150 partitions which points to Pathfinders query of "whats the real efficiency factor?" I'd opine its the person holding the rifle...whatever cartridge it may be.

Few will know the effectiveness of the the 270 Winchester until they've had a successful hunt at + 300 yards... And I'm really leaning to + 400 yards. When I've experienced this on deer I was totally impressed with the 270 Winchester (with a 200 yard zero). With my rifle I found that the Remington 140 grain Hypersonic rounds, in cold weather - performed better then expected. One shot one kill.

Way back before I had any idea who Jack O’conner was I knew all about the .270. We lived in northern B.C. when I was young, dad shot tons of huge moose with it. One fairly large grizzly as well. He used factory ammo and said I killed like lightning. I’ve had a couple of them, killed a couple of Mulies with them. Yup worked perfectly. No surprise there.
