1000fps airgun

can I legally purchase a 1000fps airgun and take possession of it while in the united states?If so what do I have to do to bring it back to Canada?

I don't think they consider airguns as firearms in the US, meaning you don't need to be a US citizen to buy one at a store.

Declare it at the border in canada they have registration forms right there from what i understand.

500 fps or less is OK anything over that requires paperwork, reg. etc.

1. buy it
2. call CFC and register it
3. go to the border and declare "evil firearm" that shoots without fire, but air
4. Tip: ask CFC to fax a copy of registration to the customs (or chose a custom that is not too far to get to)
5. enjoy new gun
