1000kg of 20mm 4 sale

1000kg or 10 000kg?

10 000kg not 1000kg, as it states in the ad....wondering if it's a typo on their part.

Nonetheless, it would be neat to latch on to even 50 kg of 20mm casings.....;)

It could be more as well. You are actually bidding on a contract to remove spent brass for the DND. Sweet!!! Maybe get some 5.56 thrown in there too!

Probably about 1/3 of the casings you'd get for 5.56 would have to be scrapped. Too many nasty dents.

Gotta read the fine print....

The bit about keeping records, and binding the future purchasers to the same rules and conditions that the stuff rolls out the gate under. PITA.

Aside from that, the likelihood is that it sells to someone that employs brothers, cousins, or other family relations to haul it, and makes less than a couple cents a pound in raw profit.

Look at the prices of the stuff that has sold. Sells for very very close to spot.

Waiting for the day that someone decides that mining the bottom of Jimmy Lake is a good idea, though. Figure the 20mm brass has got to be a couple feet thick on the in-run to the targets there. 20 years of CF 5 pilots doing gun runs, with the brass ejected overboard. Can't remember if the 104 was an overboard dumper as well, but the 18 isn't.

Well, there's at least one guy on here that has an aircraft cannon in his rec room. Bud Haynes Auction, was the source a few years back, IIRC.
