I am going to be reloading for F-class this summer and am going to try Lapua cases. I am shooting a Rem700P in .308Win. Components I will be using is as follows:

Lapua new cases
175gr. SMK
Fed 210M primer
Varget powder

I had a great load worked out using Winchester cases with 43.0gr. Varget, gave me .25-.50MOA out to 600yards. I understand the Lapua cases are heavier.

Anyone have a suggested load using these components. I want to run the velocity around 2650fps. I have a chrony that I work out the statistics on the loads to see which ones perform the best. I am currently loading to 2.83"COL. Any comment or suggestions on working up some loads using these components would be welcome. Looking for a starting point powder wise, or if anyone has some good loads already developed using these components.

Cheers fellas!

If you have a known-good load with Winchester brass, use about 0.5 grains less powder with Lapua brass, and do everything else the same.

It sounds like your existing load groups well. If you want to shoot it to 1000 yards it's better if you get decent SDs. If your SDs are higher than 15fps, it is worth working on it until they are down to 15fps (or equivalently, an extreme spread of 45 or 50fps). Better than this is good, but is more icing on the cake than absolutely necessary.

If your SDs aren't good enough, you might try working up to a hotter load and see if that improves the velocity uniformity (it often does).

Other than that.... enjoy!!

I did a full new load work up when I switched from Federal to Lapua brass.

Where did it get me? Right back to the same load - 44.5grains.

Once I test the loads over the chrony that's when I cull any that don't produce SD's of under 10 for precision loads, I can usually maintain the velocities within 50fps, sometimes I get it down to the 20's, which is pretty uniform. I will crunch all the numbers and the combo that produces the velocity I want with at least .50MOA accuracy will be my load.

Thanks for the recommendations so far.

where can one buy federal 210m primers.

Experimenting with almost the same stuff.

Varget
Lapua brass
(win primers until i find match primers)
168/175 smk & 155 scenars

TR11 I don't know where to get F210Ms these days, but until you do, don't feel like you are giving up anything by using WLRs, you're probably not. What sort of ESs or SDs are you able to get so far (that's where primers will help), maybe you're already good enough?

I am using Lapua brass, 175SMK's, Fed 210M, and Varget. My best load so far is 44.4 grs at 2.832" COL. I had some reasonably consistent velocities of 2760-2717, then I shot my chrony. These rounds produce half minute groups out to 300yds, which is as far as I've tested out to so far. When I switched from Federal brass to Lapua I ramped the load down a bit and ended up in the same place again.
