Happily, in my 700 .243 I can reach the lands within the confines of the magazine box with the 105 A-Max. Now to see if they will stabilize in the 1-9 twist.

I shoot a Remy 243 VLS with a 1 in 9.25 twist and the 105's shoot great in this rifle. The Ogive is 2.30 and they like to be shot at 2.310 .
I ALSO LIKE THE 87 gr v-Max which I found my Ogive around 2.319 and so far like the depth of 2.322 with 40 grs of IMR 4064 there going on the average of 3450 fps.

Cheers:sniper:

Whats your over all cartridge length ? I have a 700 in 243 and it shoots really well with the 87gr hornaday.

"...won't get it in the magazine box and anywhere near the lands..." That's not just a myth. It's total nonsense. Been loading a Speer 105 SP with an OAL of 2.710", for years. Just astounding what one does to a ground hog. Practically turns 'em inside out.
"...wondering if they will fit..." They should. Most commercial hunting rifles are rifled for heavy bullets.
Remember that A-Max's are supposedly match grade bullet and aren't made for hunting large game. Rumoured not to be that great as match bullets though.
