10FP-LE2A bipod mounting stud size

I tried to mount a steel Versa-Pod to the supplied mounting stud that fits into the accessory rail on the fore stock of the Choate Ultimate Varmint; however, the hole in the stud is too small to accept the Versa-Pod retaining pin.

Is this normal? Do I need to purchase another mounting stud from Choate or Savage or do I just need to ream out the stud?

I am reluctant to ream the stud because it appears there is not much room to play with at the bottom of the stud and I do not want to weaken it. Advice welcome.

Drill it out. You should not need to remove much metal to get that pin to fit.....

mine was small too, just drill it out. It will be fine afterwards. )
