I wish I had known this was coming before I went to the grey market for an RIA a few weeks back. Used to have a 45 SR1911 and should not have sold it

Ramped bull barrel, proper target sights, clean design... Might have to sell the RIA as soon as it gets here LOL

son of a beeyatch!

i just got into the 10mm game here back in January and i too was looking at a RIA or a Delta Elite.
ended up going with a Glock G40 to get my feet wet.

but i sure like the 1911 platform!
and i already have a SR1911 and a SR1911CMD so this would fit in there juuuuuuuuuuuuuuust nicely.

damn my poor wallet!!!

Oh yum! Might have to get one of these. I've been tempted by the Delta but couldn't justify the price tag for a sh!tz & giggles occasional shooter. I wish they'd checker the front strap but that would up the price by a few hundred more I'm guessing.

Check the price on the delta from prophet river. With the no tax, free shipping it should be close in price.

Thankfully I belive it's sold 'cause I just checked and didn't see it. Not that I was ready to hand over the CC anyway... just window shopping. :p

i think this new Ruger is gonna price itself out of reach.
the MSRP is $1050US.
so id imagine they will be in the US stores for $900-950 range.
so add exchange onto that and id guess we will see these come into Canada for around the $1200 mark.
maybe even more.

granted they have a heavy match barrel which is a nice bonus.

Sorry should have clarified. It's a special order, you have to wait for it to arrive from Colt in the states. The price u got mine at in March was substantially cheaper than anywhere in Canada

And window shopping is dangerous, somehow the guns I window shop always make their way into my safe hehe

Yeah I've seen the colt on sale at another sponsor, and I won't pay even that price for a gun with fixed sights.

The value isn't there, much as I like me the pony

I used to have the 10mm Colt Delta Elite when they first came out. It was OK. Preferred the S&W 1006 I traded it for. Too bad CZ hasn't introduced a 10mm yet.
Shooterschoice.ca lists the SR1911 45ACP at $1225

Looks like Ruger beefed up the 1911 somewhat to handle the 10mm (from The Tactical Wire):

"Realizing that the conventional 1911 format is not strong and heavy enough for a constant diet of real 10mm ammo, they kicked around how to make the SR1911 strong enough. So keeping springs the same, what did they do to further dampen the shock to the 106 year old design?

They did what makers of sub-compact 1911 type pistols do: they used a bull barrel, no barrel bushing and a full length steel guide rod. That adds weight. In the Browning delayed blowback, the barrel and slide move back together to the point the action is 'unlocked.' That extra weight helps slow things down."

That 10mm is a bit of a thumper.

that old fella with the long beard that does gun reviews has one up on the SR1911 10mm and he shows the bull barrel and no bushing set up in his video.
looks super solid!

It is Rich Grassi, retired LEO that does reviews for Tactical Wire and Shooting Wire. Beard? Maybe a goatee!

Got a price quote for the 10mm SR1911. $1275CDN. Could be up to 4 months wait time for pre-order if no stock available in Canada.
