Was reading the savage 10tr thread, I was planning on buying a 20" 10tr from SFRC, anyone know if the accuracy issues with the barrels are all worked out? Don't want to be stuck with a lemon. FYI I'm just a recreational shooter who may eventually take it into the Bush for deer. Can't shoot past 600 yards around here anyways so don't wanna do much aftermarket stuff to the gun besides a decent scope plus a sling and bipod I already own.

There were some issues, but that's because of bad alignment of the rail to tge bore. As far as accuracy, they are accurate. Mine has shot 1/2" groups at 100, 7/8" or better at, 200, and 3.5" groups at 500.

As far as accuracy it should be a shooter, As long ad you do your part.

Is that something youd have to get a gunsmith to fix? I.e. redrilling the holes? Or can you adjust the rail and be good to Go?

Or is this now a non issue and the newer rifles are fine?

That was on the initial batch 3-4 years ago. I don’t think any have had issues since the ones on the initial batch.

That's what I was thinking Ryan, somehow people have a tough time forgetting :). Mine that was purchased from Sfrc once it was opened up to everyone has been awesome! Now sits in a cadex chassis, is an awesome shooting gun....

From what i have also heard, it was from a batch 3-4 years ago (my friend is actually stuck with one as purchased and safe queened it, got it out to shoot the first time 3 years later and defect)
So the New savage ''S'' logo on bolt show newer batches, the old batches are indian head logo

Savage should take care of that...give them a call.
