11.15 X 60r

That's just another name for 43 Mauser.

Everyone seems to think that Elwood Epps can get every chambering known to man, so that's the place I'd look for ammo, but it will be expensive.

It's a handloading proposition. Lee sells dies, molds are available for the odd-sized bore (0.446") and "Mysticplayer" can get Jamison brass - but it's expensive (about $3 each all told).

M.T. Chambers makes .446" bullets for the .43 Mauser, anything else can be had from Buffalo Arms,ie: cases $96/100.

I can't find those 43 Mauser cases for $96/100. I can be blind sometimes - can you please point them out for me?

I have the RCBS 0.446" mold and found it a bit smaller than optimum for my guns. I bought a Lee-style push-through custom 0.448" sizer from a guy in the states for $35 and I happily size down several of the readily available 45 cal cast bullets. My guns like the Lee plain base 400gr bullet over Springfield Trapdoor cast loads.

With the 400 gr bullet I have used:

- 32.0 grs of H4198; and
- 12.0 grs of Trail Boss.

I much prefer the H4198 load (much higher MV and more accurate), but the Trail Boss load was fun - very low recoil and report. In the right light, you can visually pick up the bullet in flight for both loads when shooting past 100 yds, at about the 100 yd marker. Very cool.

Andy...Page 58 of catalogue #27. The $96/100 deal is for reformed brass, proper cases from Bell are $139/100-$73/50-$31/20. Jamison cases are$169/100-$86/50-$36/20. Reformed would problaby require annealing and even then I find they don't last as long.
My "go-to" load with the same RCBS bullet mold is 25grs. of 2400. I find this bullet in my mold drops out at .448/.449

My 2 cents.

Thanks! Is that info available on-line? If not, where do I find it?

As for the RCBS mold - I'm going to try it again next time I cast. I recorded it as dropping at a hair above 0.446", but maybe it wasn't hot enough. I use WW + 2% Tin and that should drop at a diameter on the high side.

There on-line listings only list the Jamison and Bertram brass after double checking. Maybe phone them up and ask about the catalogue listings not on line. There seems to be a lot of discrepancies like that. Most noteable is hearing that Rapine bullet molds is no longer since the old man couldn't find anyone to take it over (the kids?) While stock lasts and then its gone for good.
