I have a chance to buy a Remington 11/87 Police shotgun(18') and since I have been out of the loop for buying/selling I am looking for current market value if anyone knows. I know about supply/demand but I have not seen one around for many years. I also believe that it is restricted.

Thanks

-Lou

Very nice gun .Wouldn`t mind getting one myself .

It shouldn't be restricted, but I could be wrong.

Anyway, I think fair market value would be between $800 and $1000, based on the last few 1187's I've seen on the forum here, none of which have been polices. You could go as high as $1100 or $1200, but I wouldn't be paying more than that.

And I agree with pfbmgd, I wouldn't mind picking one up either.

I would find a older Rem 1100 and chop down the barrel to 18.5" I mean I picked up my Rem 1100 used VG cond for 349.00 BTW Its Non Restricted. I put alot into it, Easy Loader, Side Saddle, Combat Bolt Handle, +2 ext that is pinned. All that was way under 800$

Looking at installing a Speedfeed stock set, rail and ghost ring sights...Also thinking of getting the gun, Gunkote'ed, and Stainless bolt and Alum easy loader blackened.

I mean I dont really care that its engraved a bit, Left side is covered by my side saddle.

Current list price for a new one from Remington is around $1100. Used ones are extremely rare, and as such sell for around $900-1000 notwithstanding their restricted status. They are very sweet shooting riot guns.

HI FRIENDS.-:)

With the original long tube magazine aloing more than 5 shots in the magazine, this semi auto shotgun is prohibited.

But, if the mag. extention is permanently plugged or removed, and, mag, capacity is not more than 5 shells, this shotgun have a non restricted status.:D

Back to gun school for you sir.

The gun is only restricted. It is restricted as it's barrel is .5 inches too short to be non-restricted as a centerfire semi-auto. The origional mag unaltered would be prohibited (not the gun it's attached to.) As long as the tube has been permanently altered so it can't hold more than 5 rounds of the longest ammo the gun is chambered for, it's legal.

However, unless the barrel is replaced with one 18.5 inches or greater, it's restricted.

Canuck223 is right as they are restricted due to barrel length, we sold a few recently and they were restricted. They do come with mag extension but it is easily fixed with a mag cap or steel pin.The nicest model comes with the option of wilson combat sights, which are nice.

Hi.-

Probably the 11-87 you discuss is a new model on the market, personnally I have a Remington 11-87 Police stock number 9852, and, this shotgun have a 21 in. barrel with rifle sights, imp. cyl. choke.

I still have the original box.

So, sure this one is not restricted without the mag. extension permitting more than 5 shots in the tube magazine.

So, it's more than one school in the world.:D

Have a nice day.:)

That's a very nice barrel length! Long enough to carry and point, but not too heavy. Is it a fixed IC choke, or Remchoke tubes?
