I've had lots of different actions in different brands but I recently made a trade for one that's new to me, 11-87 12 gauge Remington. It was unfired so I stripped it and cleaned it and took it out to fire. Shot and cycled great until I got to the cheap 100 pack shells with small silver/ cheap rim, didn't like to eject those. Anyone have experience with what shells work well? Some that might not be great? Thanks

Ok, good to know. My last gun was an o/u and would fire anything. I was a little nervous until I realized it was a cheap shell not cooperating, while the others were doing what they were supposed to.

The 11-87 field guns were never great with light light loads even though the were suppose to be an improvement over the 1100. I've always found that the needed at minimum a 1 1/8oz 3dr. eq. or 1oz 3 1/4dr. eq. load to run reliably.

If you stick with a proper 'target' load rather than the ultra-cheap shells, it should function 100%. Those are nice guns.

Use a synthetic lube on the gas piston and magazine tube, as regular oils will bake hard very quickly.

Thanks for the info. I don't hunt with those shells but I had a few kicking around from a target session from last year. It hurt my feelings when it didn't eject lol but I feel better now. I will be testing it again this weekend.
