11mm and 3/8" dovetail rings questions

I have scope rings that are interchangeable between 11mm and 3/8". I have a CZ452 which has a 3/8" dovetail and a CZ455 with a 11mm dovetail (according to the DIP Inc. website). My questions: is it possible to actually mount the 3/8" sized mount/ring on the 11mm dovetail groove or the 11mm sized mount/ring on the 3/8" dovetail groove? What would be the result of this?

The reason I'm asking is because I just took the rings out of the packages as they were and put them on each rifle. At the time (months ago) it didn't occur to me that the dovetail grooves on the rifles were not the same. I think its possible that I put the rings on the CZ455 in their 3/8" configuration rather than in the 11mm.

I think it is possible but the 11mm has a 60 degree pitch while the 3/8 has a 45 degree I think.

11mm is 7/16"(.433"). Too big for a 3/8"(.375") dove tail. 58 thou difference. Won't tighten.

A lot of those "interchangeable" rimfire rings have a reversible clamp, one way up for 3/8", the other way up for 11mm. The ones I've played with can definitely be tightened if assembled the wrong way, contrary to sunray's assertion, but it was pretty obvious to visual inspection that they were on wrong.
