I'm planning out a light(er) weight build that will be based on a Troy 10/22 chassis.

I plan to cut the rail down so that fully collapsed the gun is 26" overall to stay NR.

To do this I think I'll need a 12" barrel.

I'm considering two aluminum .920" barrels from the US but I'm wondering if I should get a Dlask barrel instead.

Does anyone have an 11"-12" Dlask barrel they could weigh? I'm not sure if I'd go with standard Ruger profile or maybe the SR22 profile.

Any help on barrel weights would be most appreciated.

.920 steel barrels are not light... but obviously a 10" barrel will be half the weight of a 20" barrel, so if you want a bull barrel, going shorter will save weight. If "light weight" truly is the goal... then perhaps an aluminum bull would be a good idea. Weight is not a big deal for me and I prefer the heft and balance of steel. Dlask makes and excellent barrel.

Thanks for your reply.

I've had a 9" .920 Dlask barrel so I'm familiar with how heavy they are.

This build is intended to suit all members of my family so weight is an issue for my wife and kids.

Dlask does make great barrels which is why I'm considering getting a standard or sr22 pattern steel barrel from them.
