12.5 Grizz Mag problem :(

Hi,

I am having a huge problem with my mag's. I ordered 3 of them and I cannot get rounds to feed properly through any of them. The only time they work is when there is two rounds in the mag.

Here are some pictures:

my stuff

one mag all bombed up (5 rds)

same mag but with top round pushed forward (this is how it looks when the stoppage occurs)

2nd to last round (feeds fine).

I am thinking of grinding the front part of the mag down some to help the first few rounds feed - anyone else got ideas?

Both of my mags for my new 12.5 are horrible as well. They are for the most part unusable. I have to make sure the chamber is open before inserting the mag otherwise I'm not able to pump the gun. It looks like the magazine feeder pushes too far into the gun blocking you from either opening or closing the chamber. If the mag isn't in the gun, it functions perfectly... I love the gun, but so far I'm not impressed with these mags. Does anyone have any tips for modifying the mags to work?

Both of my mags, the 5th shell would jam against the front of the magazine also.
4 would feed fine, just when you put 5 in they would hit the front.

Basically it seems the magazine follower needs to have more pressure or sit higher in the front. Im thinking about trying some spacers (on the inside) on the front of the follower, to give it more pressure.

Maybe the follower should actually by angled more to make up for the shell's rim?

Have not had time to play with it.

Had the same problem, you need a dremel and sand paper, start by polishing the inside of the lips. that should fix 50% of your problem. If its still jamming first do some seach here as it is troughtly documented, but you could use a dremel to enlarge the recess in your tird picture and or reduce the lenght of the lips a bit. Also polishing the hell of the chamber of the gun helps.

And sorry for the bad spelling a french guy is trying to help:p

x2, sand the feed lips smooth, then slightly bend the middle of the feed lips so they just barely give some resistance to the top shell.polishing the chamber also helps with a lot of problems.

Are any of you able to cycle the gun with an empty mag in it? I find with both of my mags that i can't even open the chamber with a mag in the gun as the feeder seems to sit slightly too high and gets caught. It also looks like i need to dremel quite a bit off as the same thing also happens to me as the third picture. Were we just the few unlucky ones to get bad mags?

I can cycle the last round out so I think you are worse off than me there Kyndrick.

I got my dremel out and will start grinding away until things work or there is no mag left.

Look at post #13 on this thread...

After doing this my mags feed perfectly. This reminds me that I didn't finish doing all my mags. Another thing to add to my long list of things that need to be done. :bangHead:
