12(6) dilema and moving South

If it were me I'd remove the barrels and leave them in Toronto. Then you keep 12(6). You can always get replacement barrels in Florida, depends on how obscure the guns are.

the frame is registered not the barrels.... keeping only the barrels here does nothing.

the biggest question to ask is if you bring any 12(6) guns down there can you bring them back? it's illegal to import prohibited guns... even if you have a 12(6) licence. if you moved them down there and tryed to come back you'd be SOL. unless it was only a "temp" inmport. then you might get back.

Keep 'em and store them up here. There's no point in selling a large 12(6) collection in Canada because we all know what prohibition has done to their resale value, with pennies on the dollar being the norm.

Since you're moving to Florida and buying a gunshop there, you aren't going to be hurting for firearms, and you'll now have access to all the so-called short barrel handguns you'll ever want, at wholesale/dealer pricing.:dancingbanana:

It sounds like you'll probably be spending a fair bit of time in Canada, in any event, to take advantage of the health-care system with your little boy. Who knows what the future will hold, you might decide you don't like Florida after the 4th car-jacking and decide to head back to the Great White North...:D ;) better to keep your options open; something which your finances will permit. Good luck with everything, whatever you decide!:)
